Camping Nightmare

Two years ago my parent's Diane and Perry along with my family (husband Ben and 7 year old son Caleb) and my sister's family (Ashley and her husband Kevin) decided we would take a vacation together to South Dakota to view Mt. Rushmore and go sight seeing around the area. At that time Perry and Diane owned a motorhome bus that they traveled in and we pulled a pop up camper behind our vehicle. My sister's family did not own a camper so they choose to rent a cabin and stay in that. Upon arrival we were pleasantly pleased as the campground was beautiful and the scenery was some of the best we had ever seen. We got settled in and soon after decided to venture out and explore the new area we had found. We visited a information center and found a nice putt putt course right outside hill city that we challenged ourselves to. Shortly after we were quite hungrey so we stopped in town at a little cafe to grab a bite to eat. The cafe was offering a salad bar and buffey special at the time so we decided to go with that and ate until we were nice and full. It wasn't too much longer and Caleb wasn't feeling so well as the change in altitude had began to take a toll on his stomach. We decided to go back to the campground for the day and relax. Our pop up camper did not have a toliet in it and we had not realized that Caleb had went in Grandma Diane and Grandpa Perry's motorhome to use theirs. A few hours passed and Grandpa Perry went in to use the restroom and found the sewage was so backed up that the toliet wouldn't flush! After trying several attempts to flush drain unblockage liquid down with no results Grandpa Perry and Kevin climbed under the motorhome and prepared for the worst. We soon found that this wasn't going to be a quick ordeal and that we weren't likely to be going anywhere soon so us women decided to take a walk around the campground and visit the park there. Several hours passed and we had returned to find them still lying under the motorhome with all the pipes disconnected and yet to unblock the culprit that refused to let the sewage drain. By this time we were getting some mighty wierd stare's from our fellow campers next to us. It was a good thing at the time that Ashley and Kevin had rented a cabin as we all had to resort to their place to use the restroom! Darkness crept upon us and still no fix was found to the motorhome. We had to give it up for the day and resorted to bed but sleep was limited as bright and early the next morning Grandpa Perry was up and under that motorhome again! I guess the smell was getting unbearable inside. Soon after Kevin joined him again and they were pulling more pipes apart. A couple hours later they finally found the clogged pipe but now the problem was how they were to get the clog out! We were sent looking for long sticks lying around the campground and after several attempts finally found a long enough one to poke at the clog and manage to get it to loosen up and fall out. By this time we didn't have some happy campers as the clog came barreling out and managed to splash both Kevin and Grandpa Perry in a discusting mess! Needless to say we managed to put that disaster behind us the next day and had a remotely good trip. However, the motorhome bathroom became off limits and we all resorted to the cabin restroom afterwards. This trip will never be forgotten in our family and the nice thing is that we can finally laugh about it!
